# 3 Block Diagram

# 3.1.1 cPCI-3E10 Block Diagram

The cPCI-3E10 is based on four Intel® i210IT PCI express Giga-bit Ethernet controllers. The Intel® i210IT is a highly integrated chip including Ethernet MAC and PHY. Please refer to the Intel® i210IT datasheet for more information.

![Based on the provided block diagram, here is an accurate and concise description of the labeled blocks and their connections:\n\n**Left Side (Network Interfaces & Transformers)**\n* **Top Group:** Two RJ45 connector icons connect to two 'Transformer' blocks. Each 'Transformer' connects to an 'S' switch block.\n * From the 'S' switches, connections go to 'I210 A Ethernet' and 'I210 B Ethernet'.\n * Additionally, lines from the 'S' switches loop to the right, connecting to two 'Transformer' blocks (located at the top right) which then connect to 'J2'.\n* **Bottom Group:** Two RJ45 connector icons connect to two 'R' switch blocks.\n * From the 'R' switches, connections go right to two 'Transformer' blocks. These 'Transformer' blocks then connect to 'I210 C Ethernet' and 'I210 D Ethernet'.\n * Also, lines from the 'R' switches go down to a 'B2B' block.\n\n**Center (Ethernet Controllers & Switch)**\n* The four Ethernet blocks ('I210 A Ethernet', 'I210 B Ethernet', 'I210 C Ethernet', 'I210 D Ethernet') each connect to the 'PCIe Packet Switch' (labeled 'PI7C9X2G808'). Each of these connections is labeled 'PCIe x 1'.\n\n**Right Side (PCIe Bridge & Connectors)**\n* The 'PCIe Packet Switch' connects to the 'PCI to PCIe Bridge' (labeled 'PI7C9X111') via a line labeled 'PCIe x 1'.\n* The 'PCI to PCIe Bridge' connects to 'J1' via a line labeled 'PCI 32bit'.\n\n**Bottom Right (Clocking)**\n* A 'CLOCK GEN' block (labeled '5V41234') connects via a downward arrow to a 'CLOCK BUFFER' block (labeled '92XL1231').\n* The 'CLOCK BUFFER' outputs multiple signals labeled 'PCIe_CLK_100MHz'.](.cpci-3e10-50m-15073-1010-11-2/81ab40722b26747e54d5b9392cdf2d4df1dd1d3d0fed7089bc19f7df698ab5db.jpg)
