# 5.6 Cleaning and Disinfection

ADLINK recommends product cleaning and disinfecting according to the guidelines and specifications of the Robert Koch-Institute (RKI) in Germany. These guidelines apply to the device. For cables, sensors and other peripheral items, follow the cleaning instructions in the Directions for Use document that accompany these accessories.

The following germicidal products are ADLINK-approved disinfectants for use on your ADLINK product, especially for the touchscreen or glass front panel:

Incidin Plus
Skinman soft
Cutasept G & F
Sterilium
Aseptoman

In general, disinfectants based on alcohol, aldehydes, guanidine derivatives or quaternary compounds are suitable for use as surface disinfectants.

Disinfectants based on chlorine, chlorine-releasing substances, or peroxide compounds must not be used for device decontamination, as these ingredients can lead to material damage of the device, especially if the surface has prior damage (e.g. an accidentally caused scratch) and/or especially over long-term use of these type of disinfectant solutions.

While there are many other products available for disinfection, their effectiveness has not been tested on your ADLINK product. If you use a product or method other than those recommended substances above, this should be documented accordingly in your hygiene protocol.

For a wipe disinfection, use a spray applicator to apply any of the approved liquids from the list above and use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen. Thoroughly follow the specifications and usage guidelines of the manufacturers of the disinfecting solutions for cleaning your device.

If due to the nature of the device application or its location a cleaning of the device should be sufficient, please use a soft, damp and lint-free cloth only to clean the device’s surface. If the device was lightly soiled only, it would be best to refrain completely from water and use a dry cloth providing anti-static characteristics instead.

For cleaning the glass/touch front of the device, a simple household glass cleaner available in consumer markets may be used. After spray application of the glass cleaner, use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the device front until all liquid films are removed.

As a general safety precaution, your ADLINK product should undergo decontamination before returning the device to ADLINK for service, repair, inspection, or disposal.

#  NOTICE

Contaminated items must not be returned without prior written agreement.
